President Casey Scott called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM.
We had 20 members present.
Casey asked Ray Peterson to read previous month’s minutes. Minutes were read and he asked for approval as read. Dave Thompson made a 1st, with John Switzer making a 2nd. Minutes were approved.
Dennis Church was asked do give a financial report. He reported that we have $26,911.82 in our Banking account.
William Smith was introduced as a visitor.
Larry Banner was given the floor to discuss our new website. He explained that our new name on the website will be called RemoteRC.com. He passed out various home page designs and entertained various questions about our new website. Dean Child made a 1st with Carl Waldvogel making a 2nd to accept our home page design. Motion was approved.
Jerry Law brought us up to speed on were we are with the City of St George concerning our new flying site. He continues to work with Barry Barnum and will meet with the City Council at their next Thursday work meeting. Jerry also mentioned that he is working with Mayor McArther concerning materials that can be purchased through his business for a new awning.
Bert Mitchell talked about improvements to their new flying site (ccrcc) in Cedar City. It is located 11 miles west of exit 59, in the 3-Peaks Recreational Area. Also mentioned about a possible Federal Grant that can be available to non-profit organizations overseen by a City, County, or State entity. Great work Cedar City RC Club. Also they will sponsor a Cross Country event July 21st.
Casey Scott handed out winning gift certificates to the following participants of our Fun fly CD’ed by Rob Scarkino. 1st place Walt Fletcher, 2nd place Dennis Sherwood, and 3rd place Larry Porter. Larry Porter gave a blow by blow description of the events that day. Thanks again to all participants and those who worked behind the scenes with the food preparation, like Doug Prettyman, Bill Layne, Eddie Chandler, and Ted Taylor. Rob Scarkino a Job well done. Who ever I missed give me Ten Lashes.
The fuel and t-shirt raffle were won by the following members. Fuel-Dean Child, t-shirts Bert Mitchell, Ray Peterson, and Dave Aldredge. Once again where would we be without the support of the Hobby Hut who without exception always supports our Club?
