Minutes of Remote Possibilities RC Club
September 7, 2006

President Mike Jensen opened meeting at 1904. There were 18 members present.

Treasurers report $26,252.89 in kitty. Mike reported receiving a check for $300+ from AMA as part of an earlier donation from Bud Pannier. Thanks Bud!!!!!

Air Show and Mall display was discussed. Motion made by D. Sherwood and L Lott to proceed with the Airshow. Passed…. Mike Jensen will coordinate the display and Airshow. Discussed placing a donation box (not gate donation) at the field to try and raise $$ for new field, this was agreed on.

Notice given of Club picnic and party on Sept 16 at Nisson Park in Washington. Starts at 4PM (or 1600 hours). Bring your park fliers….

Doc Martin attended the St. George City Council mtg. at the request of the President. Doc reported that the subject of a timeline for construction of the new St. George Airport and our need to vacate the present flying filed was not brought up.

The DRAFT Proposal for the new flying site at Sand Hollow State Park was passed out and discussed. Much discussion on the Sand Hollow site.

Salient points brought up…
1. This proposal does not preclude Warner Valley from future consideration. Warner Valley is in reserve in the event lack of funds or something else stops the Sand Hollow site.
2. The proposal is not complete. Work on the design, specs and cost of proposal needs to be completed. Motion made and passed that Dennis Church would head up and or assist in the completion of the design, specs and costs part of the Proposal. Dennis agreed to the passed motion.
3. It was noted that the basic parts of the proposal will apply with minor modification to any site chosen.
4. AMA insurance will still be valid for AMA members and participants at a Club sponsored event if we require that fliers in a club sponsored event be AMA members. The person contacted so far at Sand Hollow has said the field must be open to all fliers but they must follow the safety rules. What this means is that for regular daily flying that anyone can use the field and if you are AMA your personal liability from AMA is valid. Non AMA fliers are not covered. But for Club sponsored events we can specify AMA only and the insurance will be in place for fliers and the field.

Discussion on rumors and communications within the Club and with outside agencies and officials. Motion made and passed that ALL COMMUNICATIONS CONCERNING THE NEW FIELD WOULD FUNNEL THROUGH THE CLUB OFFICERS. If you have questions or wish to help the process go through the President or the people he appoints as representatives for the Club. The purpose is to reduce unfounded rumors, speculation and make it possible for the Club as a whole to function better in getting the new field.
