Casey Scott was conducting in the absent of Michael Jensen President.
Casey called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM.
There were 16 in attendance.
Casey thanked all who had helped with the Jet Rally.
Previous minutes for April were read and approved as read.
Casey asked Dennis Church to give a financial report and monies received from the Jet Rally. Dennis reported that we have $26,503.10 in our bank account. He also reported that $750.00 was collected from Jet Rally participants, $391.00 was collected at the gate, and $211.00 was turned in from the Food Wagon.
Casey introduced Bob Simon to the Club membership in which he was accepted as a member at which time Bob turned in his application for membership and paid his $25.00 Club dues.
Casey Scott asked Dennis Church to give the Club an update on the progress at Warner Valley. Dennis stated that there were some concerns at of the exact legal description of the property but they were moving forward on the application process.
LaRonzo Lott informed those present that the City of Washington was moving forward with needed paper work to annex property in Warner Valley.
Casey asked Dennis Church to report about upcoming Pylon Race. Dennis had safety concerns because we no longer have protective fencing for the judges. It was agreed that because of monetary expenses and safety that we cancel the Pylon Race.
Casey opened up the discussion about our Summer Picnic. Glen Fee suggested that a date later in the year would be more appropriate. Dave Thompson suggested Nisson Park in Washington City on July 29th. Dave Thompson put that in a motion with LaRonzo Lott making a 2nd. The motion was approved.
Dennis Sherwood said that they were going to have a Float Fly the following day at New Castle and if anyone was interested come on up.
Casey Scott gave Vergil Weis the floor to give a presentation on a possible flying site at Sand Hollow. He showed a panorama view with pictures of the proposed site. Various and sundry questions were asked and answered with what information was available at that time.
Glen Fee put forth a motion that we continue with Warner Valley and use Sand Hollow as an alternative. Dennis Sherwood reminded Glen that the only authorization that was made for Warner Valley was to approve monies for a geological sweep.
Lloyd Apple made a motion that Vergil Weis and Ray Peterson continue to pursue with Sand Hollow. Dale Winder made a second and the motion was ratified.
Dave Thompson reported that Jeff Blaylock with IMAC out of Salt Lake would like to have a meet at the end of January 2007 providing we have a flying field at that point.
Dale Winder, Brent Robison, and Dennis Church were mention as individuals that may be available for training of new pilots.
Casey Scott once again thanked Lloyd Apple for the refreshments and adjourned the meeting at 8:40 PM.
