Mike Jensen called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Minutes of January meeting were read. A correction to minutes was made by Jim Mullins where it was reported that Lloyd Apple would work as Safety Officer instead of Flight Director at our up coming February Fly-in. Correction to minutes were made and approved.
There were 29 in attendance.
Mike Jensen asked for a financial report. Dennis Church reported that there was $22,632.23 currently in our account.
Mike Jensen asked if we had any visitors, where Jeff Bickel was introduced. His intensions were to join the Club.
Mike Jensen asked if anyone present had any suggestions for a new meeting place. Dixie College Recreation Center was mentioned but nothing firm was brought before the membership.
Mike Jensen discussed a need for a Safety Coordinator and suggested the name of Dr Al Martin. After a brief discussion about the nominee, LaRonzo Lott made a 1st and Bill Layne made a 2nd to approve the nominee. A vote was taken and Dr Al Martin was approved.
Jim Mullins who is working with Lloyd Apple (who is Safety Officer at upcoming Fly-in) had concerns about helicopters participation at the February Fly-in.
And he also had concerns about our Club following AMA guidelines with the position of Safety Coordinator. A discussion pursued with Mike Jensen stating that he wanted to do what ever is needed to stay in compliance with AMA.
Dan Johnson was asked to give the Club an update on any new flying site that was in the works. He showed by map a location in Warner Valley that is being considered as a new flying site. This five acre parcel is State Trust land and would have a $1500.00 a year lease fee. Total cost was estimated to be approximately $70,000 with a $250 archeological sweep fee. Dan also mentioned that Jerry Atkin might be involved financially and suggested the Field could be named Sky West Field home of Remote Possibilities. Jim Mullins asked if the new field would be self proprietor and had some concerns about liability.
Mike Jensen asked Casey Scott to report on scheduling for upcoming events. Casey said that he had contacted Mike Lapier who is employed by City of St George who now schedules events at our flying field. He reported that the Presidency will be meeting with Mike Lapier on Wednesday the 8th of February at the flying field to discuss the upcoming events.

8) Float Fly (Enterprize) August 19th
Casey Scott also wanted to thank Dan Johnson and Eddie Chandler for their help in donation and construction of the Senior Cadet to raffle off at our Presidents Day Fly-in.
