Mike Jensen called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM
There were 31 in attendance.
Mike Jensen asked the Secretary to read the minutes of our March 2nd meeting. The minutes were read and approved.
The Fun-fly scheduled for April 15th was changed to a Float-fly and rescheduled to April 22nd. It will be held at Sand Cove.
The Jet Rally scheduled for May 5th, 6th, and 7th will need help at the gate and registration. Dave Klose was suggested as someone who might be willing to help at the gate.
Mike Jensen mentioned that several full-scale aircraft companies are demanding royalties from modeling manufactures, therefore some of the modeling manufactures are discontinuing producing these products. AMA gave website www.modelaircraft.org/supportletter.asp on how we could help.
Mike Jensen read resignation letter from Jim Mullins. Also LaRonzo Lott expressed concerns about comments that Jim Mullins had made.
Dale Winder talked about helping a scout troop learning about and flying R/C planes. He was told that the Club would be happy to help, but needed a date and number of scouts that might participate.
Mike Jensen opened up for discussion about the new flying site. Various and sundry comments where made about the pros and cons of the new site. Bill Boice made a motion to go forth and do the necessary paper work to secure the proposed flying site in Warner Valley. This would include paying $250.00 for the archeological sweep. A vote was taken and it appeared to be unanimous.
There was a discussion about using underlay instead of asphalt.
Dennis Sherwood talked with the Mayor about how long the existing field would be useable. Also mentioned that four million dollars could be lost if some work is not started by Oct. of 2006. Bill Hipp said certain studies need to be made and a record of decision for the Air Port to start.
Mike Jensen asked for a financial report, were as Dennis Church reported that we had $25,310.96 in our account.
Mike Switzer was introduced as a new member, in which he turned in his application and membership fee.
Dave Thompson said that for future flying events that two local radio stations would be willing to advertise for our Club if properly notified.
We had 25 entered in our fuel raffle which was won by Ray Peterson. Once again thanks to Lorin Reeder and the Hobby Hut in helping our Club to raise needed funds.
Our next club meeting will be held at our current flying field to prepare the site for the Jet Rally. We will meet at 5:00 PM Thursday May 4th.
